Ep 12. How Angela Lost 50 Pounds and Transformed Her Life with Epigenetics

I had the pleasure of sitting down with my client Dr. Angela Vossenkuhl, a dedicated mother and professor, to dive into her incredible journey of health transformation. We explored the challenges Angela faced, the dietary and lifestyle changes she adopted, and the profound impact these changes had on her physical and mental well-being — all under my guidance as her coach, using personalized health strategies.

Introduction to Angela’s Health Journey
Angela’s journey began in September 2023. Feeling miserable and plagued by migraines, weight gain, and an unhealthy relationship with food, Angela knew she needed a change. She started a health program and, with my coaching, embarked on an enlightening journey that would transform her life.

Navigating Early Challenges and Detoxing
Angela shared the early hurdles she faced when detoxing her body and brain from dairy, gluten, and sugar. I provided a structured dietary plan that excluded these foods, including nitrate-free bacon, which required a significant shift in her eating habits. The early days were tough, especially learning what to eat while dining out. However, Angela began to see improvements in her energy levels and overall happiness with her meals as she persisted.

Transitioning and Adapting to a New Diet
A pivotal moment in Angela’s journey was the transition from a ketogenic diet to the PH 360 food list. This change altered her snacking habits and mindset about food, helping her feel more satisfied and content. When a histamine issue required further dietary modifications, Angela adapted gracefully and found joy in her new eating habits. Her story highlights the importance of personalized diet plans and understanding one’s unique body needs.

Remarkable Physical and Mental Transformation
Angela’s transformation, both physically and mentally, has been nothing short of remarkable. By eliminating sugar and focusing on balanced meals with bigger lunches and smaller dinners, Angela achieved significant health milestones. Her energy surged, migraines decreased, and she lost nearly 50 pounds since our first coaching session. Her liver enzymes, insulin levels, and overall health markers showed impressive improvements, underscoring the effectiveness of tailored dietary changes.

Achieving Personal Goals and Consistency in Wellness
One of the most inspiring aspects of Angela's story is how her improved health and clarity of mind allowed her to complete personal goals, like earning her doctorate. We emphasized the importance of staying consistent in health and wellness. Understanding one’s unique needs and having the right support system is crucial for sustainable, long-term success.

The Social Aspect of Health and Support
Angela shared how exercising with friends and taking brief moments for herself, especially before her kids wake up, have been crucial for her mental and physical health. I can’t stress enough the significance of making exercise enjoyable and suitable for your lifestyle to ensure lasting well-being.

Whether you're facing your own health challenges or seeking inspiration, Angela’s story provides valuable insights and encouragement for all listeners.
