Welcome back to our latest episode of "Everyday Epigenetics. Raw. Real. Relatable." In Episode 29, I had the pleasure of engaging in an insightful conversation with our special guest, Mindy Perkins. This episode delves deep into the world of personalized health profiles, stressing the importance of individuality in exercise and stress management.

Meet Melinda Perkins: The New Force at Healthy Awakening

We're thrilled to announce that Mindy Perkins has officially joined our coaching practice, Healthy Awakening, as my indispensable right-hand person and an endorsed PH 360 coach. Mindy brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise, especially in the realm of personal training, and she complements our holistic approach to personalized health solutions.

Mindy’s journey into the world of epigenetics began in 2017, inspired by thought leaders like Bruce Lipton. Although initially limited by the necessity of attending in-person courses in Auckland, Mindy’s dedication led her to pursue online training with PH360 when it became available in 2020. Mindy’s qualifications don't stop at PH 360 coaching; she’s also a certified personal trainer, Reiki Master, and a passionate writer/podcaster.

Why Personalized Health Profiles Matter

Mindy emphasizes the necessity of creating personalized health profiles to tailor fitness plans that encompass mental, social, environmental, and physical aspects. She strongly advocates for autonomy in exercise choices and highlights the importance of understanding one’s body regarding movement and communication.

As Mindy points out, each body is built to move, but individual differences in muscle structure and genetics significantly influence exercise preferences and needs. The conversation stretched into an anecdote about planning a road trip, where Susan and Mindy shared their preferences for physical activities, illustrating how neurotransmitter levels can impact exercise intensity tolerance.

Stress Management: Moving Beyond One-Size-Fits-All

We also touched on stress management, an area we’re both passionate about. With the holiday season approaching, stress tends to skyrocket, leading to 75% of doctor visits and affecting insulin and cholesterol levels. Mindy and I are excited to announce an upcoming "Stress-Free Season Masterclass," aimed at helping you navigate the holiday season with ease.

The PH 360 Circle Concept: Unconditional Self-Acceptance

A pivotal part of the discussion revolved around the PH 360 circle concept, which promotes unconditional self-acceptance. By understanding and embracing our true identities rather than conforming to societal expectations, we can cultivate stronger relationships and stress relief.

Mindy’s personal story shines a light on how accepting oneself can transform not only individual lives but relationships as well. Mindy described how she leans on her son to help organize her thoughts, reflecting the importance of external support systems.

Looking Ahead: Exciting Collaborations and Expansions

Our conversation wrapped up with an exciting announcement: we’re planning to include another DNA coach and expand our podcast content related to personalized health and epigenetics. Mindy and I are looking forward to continuing our collaboration to bring holistic health solutions to the forefront, blending my expertise in DNA and PH360 personalized health, with Mindy’s deep knowledge in fitness and PH360 personalized health.
