142. Women’s Health: Understanding What Your Body Is Telling You with Dr. Daniella Remy

“I just feel off.”

How many women have said those words while knowing something has changed in their body but struggling to explain exactly what?

Maybe your sleep suddenly changes. Your energy crashes. Your digestion feels different. You’re experiencing brain fog, anxiety, headaches, cycle changes, or symptoms that seem completely unrelated.

Individually, those symptoms may not tell us much. Together, they may tell a story.

In Episode 142 of Everyday Epigenetics: Raw. Real. Relatable., I welcome back Dr. Daniella Remy to talk about why women’s lived experiences deserve a bigger place in healthcare.

Your Body Has a Language

Daniella describes symptoms as the body’s way of communicating.

One symptom can be difficult to interpret. But when we begin tracking multiple symptoms, when they happen, what was happening around them, and how they change over time, patterns can start to emerge.

That context matters because your health is not a snapshot.

A lab result captures one moment in time. Your body, however, is constantly changing in response to hormones, stress, sleep, nutrition, environment, lifestyle, and countless other influences.

This becomes especially important during hormonal transitions like perimenopause, when symptoms can fluctuate dramatically.

From “Something Is Off” to Meaningful Information

Daniella created Luna to help bridge this gap.

Instead of asking women to check boxes on another symptom tracker, Luna allows them to talk naturally about what they’re experiencing. Over time, the platform organizes that information, looks for patterns, and creates summaries that can help women better understand their experiences and communicate with their healthcare providers.

It isn’t about diagnosing yourself. It’s about giving context to your story.

Be Your Own Advocate, Not Your Own Doctor

This may be my favorite message from our entire conversation.

Women shouldn’t have to spend hours online trying to diagnose themselves because they don’t feel heard. But we should understand our bodies well enough to speak up when something changes.

Pay attention. Track patterns. Ask questions. Keep advocating when you know something isn’t right.

You don’t have to simply endure symptoms because you’re getting older, entering perimenopause, or going through another transition.

Your body is communicating with you.

The more clearly we can understand that language, the better conversations we can have about what comes next.

Listen to Episode 142 of Everyday Epigenetics: Raw. Real. Relatable. with Dr. Daniella Remy for a powerful conversation about women’s health, self-advocacy, and finally feeling heard.
